About
The White Panda formed when two boyhood friends discovered they had independently embarked on mashup careers in college. Chicago-based Procrast (Tom Evans) first blended Rick Astley snippets with 2 Live Crew grooves as a way to avoid productive activity in 2008, while DJ Griffi (Dan Griffith) embarked on the same mission, for a similar purpose, in L.A. Their combined effort, the White Panda, launched in 2009 with a single that topped internet radio charts days later.
Their first free album, “Versus”, slipped onto stereos just before 2010 dawned. Critics lauded the guys as pure sonic collagists for accelerating the reverberating nature of contemporary pop music. By harnessing the sounds of the moment before they become everyday tunes, the White Panda changed—and changes—the way listeners grasp the musical landscape.

DJ Griffi & Procrast
Since, the duo has produced “Rematch”, a critically acclaimed compilation released July 2, 2010 while touring North America with artists like Wale, Far East Movement, Mike Posner, Flo-Rida, Ghostland Observatory, Chiddy Bang, Mac Miller, Sam Adams and more. Recently, DJ Griffi joined Procrast in Chicago to complete a third album, “Pandamonium”, which debuted on March 1, 2011.
“Mashup Mondays” are the group’s signature release style, putting out a new track almost every week for their fans. All of Panda’s music, from their first track to their most recent, is available for free download on their website.
In the fall of 2010 Panda hit the road for a 40-city North American tour spanning 30 states and three countries. Spring of 2011 was filled with mostly college and university dates for the Pandas, and the nationwide Pandamonium Tour begins July 1, 2011.
